Black holes
What are black holes ???
Do you know what are those black space bodies moving in the universe that can gulp in light ?
Yes they are black holes , invisible to us , they are the massive bodies that have strongest gravitational pull or a force that even light can’t escape it.
# major doubt :
Terrifying yeah I know they are , we are always afraid that what will happen if a black hole uses his magical powers on our earth and gulped it in ? Then where will we go ?
So let’s go we are going to answer that :
What are black holes according to nasa ?
A black hole is an astronomical object with a gravitational pull so strong that nothing, not even light, can escape it. A black hole’s “surface,” called its event horizon, defines the boundary where the velocity needed to escape exceeds the speed of light, which is the speed limit of the cosmos. Matter and radiation fall in, but they can’t get out.
Which black hole is closest to our earth ?
The closest known black hole to Earth is Gaia BH1, located approximately 1,560 light-years away in the direction of the constellation Ophiuchus. Isn’t it interesting and terrifying at the same time.
Features of this black hole :
1. It’s a "stellar-mass" black hole. This means it’s made when a massive star (much bigger than our Sun) collapses at the end of its life. Gaia BH1 is about 10 times heavier than the Sun, but there are even bigger black holes out there.
2. Gaia BH1 is relatively close—only about 1,000 light-years away from Earth. That might sound far, but in space terms, that’s actually pretty close! It's in our part of the Milky Way galaxy.
3. Don’t worry it is billions of light years away from our earth, so stay relaxed for now.
What will happen if we encounter a black hole ?
It is scary but facts are facts.
If a black hole were to encounter the Earth, the planet would be irrevocably destroyed as the black hole's immense gravity would tear it apart, a process known as spaghettification.
No Escape:
Once inside a black hole, nothing, not even light, can escape its gravity.
- The Earth would be ripped apart and its matter would be drawn into the black hole, eventuallyforming a superheated, rapidly spinning accretion disk before disappearing into the singularityIf you like 👍 our content then share our this knowledge with your friends and family and those who need this Information and follow Sciencegater.
